Short version: nothing is a game until both players are at the table, once it is a game nobody can walk away from it, and if a game cannot be finished fairly, both stakes go back. The details are below.
1. What counts as a game
A challenge link on its own is not a game. It only becomes one at the moment both players are seated at the table and the first round actually starts (status “playing”).
Until that moment nothing is locked in and your stake is only held, never at risk:
— A challenge nobody accepts is returned automatically after 60 minutes.
— A funded challenge that stays unmatched is returned after 120 minutes.
— If you are seated but the other side never shows up at the table, the game is refunded after the ready-wait window (15 minutes by default).
From the first round on, it counts. Once a game is live it cannot be cancelled or abandoned by either player — it ends only by a result, by the idle rules below, or by our fair-play checks.
2. Idle & AFK rules
Every turn has a time limit (35 seconds by default). If you do not move in time, you are idle and this is what happens:
— First idle turn: you lose that round to your opponent.
— Second idle turn in a row: the match ends. Your stakes are returned to both players — you lose the game, but nobody loses money to an absent opponent.
— Both players idle at the same time: the game is refunded, no one wins or loses.
— Chess: the first idle turn only passes your turn; the second one in a row ends the game with a refund.
3. Refunds
Whenever a game cannot be played to a fair end — a challenge that expires, an opponent who never arrives, both sides idle, or a failed integrity check — every stake is returned in full to both players. No house fee is taken on a refunded game.
4. Fees & payouts
In paid games both stakes form the pot. The winner is paid the pot minus a small house fee, credited the instant the game ends. Every result is independently re-checked on our side before any payout (fail-closed), and every game is provably fair — see Provably Fair.
5. Fair play
Bots, scripts, multi-accounting, collusion and any attempt to manipulate a result are not allowed. We may void a game, refund it and close accounts involved. Play is 18+ only — play responsibly, gambling can be addictive.
